Satay Kajang

What is Satay?

Satay ( Malaysian spelling ) or Sate (Indonesian spelling), is a dish of seasoned, skewered and grilled meat, served with a sauce.  It is a dish of Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Satay may consist of diced or sliced chicken, goat, mutton, beef, pork, fish, other meats, or tofu; the more authentic version uses skewers from the midrib of the coconut palm frond, although bamboo skewers are often used. These are grilled or barbecued over a wood or charcoal fire, then served with various spicy seasonings. Satay can be served in various sauces, however most often they are served in a combination of soy and peanut sauce. Hence, peanut sauce is often called satay sauce.

Sate Kajang Hj Samuri, Kajang (near MRT)

Sate Kajang Hj Samuri, inarguably the most famous satay restaurant in Kajang which has been around since 1972. If you're coming by MRT, you will see the restaurant as soon as getting off the Stadium Kajang station. Exit through Pintu C and cross the road to the restaurant. For those driving, there are parking spaces within the restaurant compound as well as outside. There is also a children's playground directly outside the restaurant. Once you have arrived at the restaurant, look for a table and take a note of the table number. If you're here in a group, send one of your group members to wait in line while you look for a table. When ordering, you will need to let them know your table number as the satay will be delivered to your table once its ready.
